Ellaidhoo Maldives by Cinnamon Hotels has situated 42 km from Malé in the North Ari Atoll – an area famed for its diving hot spots and natural house reef. After a 25-minute seaplane flight or 55-minute speedboat, you will find a natural paradise for snorkeling and diving.
One of the sister properties of Cinnamon Dhonveli, the Ellaidhoo Maldives, is situated on a small island on top of a reef. This is the right place to look for abundant sea life. This resort is well-known as “Diver’s Paradise in the Maldives,” with more than 50 dive sites around the resort.
Ellaidhoo Maldives resort has a chill and more relaxed vibe than other resorts we have visited. The Resort is environmentally conscious and continuously adopts more measures to help the conversation of nature and sea life.
If you want to stay away from the crowds and stay in a smaller resort, you can stop searching as you have found the perfect alternative.
Accommodations
We stayed at their overwater bungalow. The bungalow is beautiful with a glass floor in the entrance (which we love), a sofa lounge, a desk, a queen bed, and a great deck to relax and watch the sunset. It’s a little smaller than the one we stayed at at Cinnamon Dhonveli but still spacious.
Another great feature of our overwater bungalow was the washroom, with lots of space and a unique open-air shower! Nothing better than taking a good shower after a beach day and still getting to enjoy blue skies or the moonlight.

Meal Plans
If you can go for an All inclusive meal package, don’t think twice. We can’t stress that enough! It’s the best deal you will find in the Maldives. We can sum it up in one phrase: It’s worry free.
At Ellaidhoo Maldives, once again, we decided to go for their All Inclusive package, and we feel that you can enjoy your experience at the resort when you have nothing to worry about! Yes, guys, we are foodie people!
At the resort, you will find 2 bars and 2two restaurants with a great selection, from local to international food. It’s buffet style, and they change “the menu” daily so you can enjoy different types of food and cuisine.
One thing we thought was amazing is that upon check-in, the resort gives you a reusable water bottle to fill up anywhere. That’s Ellaidho Maldives trying to reduce the use of plastic inside the resort. We love it! They are environmentally conscious.
Activities
As we mentioned at the beginning of this post, the resort is on top of a natural reef with plenty of sea life. That means you can see so much action in the alternative that you don’t need to do any excursions if you don’t want to.
They have nighttime diving if you are looking for a different activity. We did a Dolphin Safari, and it was enjoyable! These activities are always a game where you’re gambling. There’s no guarantee to see any wildlife as these animals are complimentary. We were lucky enough to spot some beautiful dolphins and recommend this activity. But you have to go knowing they can’t find any of them sometimes.
If you want to keep fit during your stay, they have a well-equipped gym! They also have tennis, badminton and volleyball courts.
Fred played football (soccer) with the resort staff and had a lot of fun! As we’re Brazilians and football is the most common sport in our country, the staff invited Fred to play with them when the team found out about this. They were all friendly, and we’ll never forget that afternoon.
Signature Dinner
If you’re looking for a romantic date with your loved one, Ellaidhoo offers a signature dinner with candlelights at the beach. It can’t get more romantic than that, huh?
