Have you ever thought about experiencing two beautiful worlds in one?

That’s what Raffles Maldives Meradhoo promises to offer you.

Raffles Maldives Meradhoo is located on two different islands; the best part is that guests can enjoy the amenities on both islands!

The transportation is done by boat and just takes 1 minute to go from one island to another. How cool is that?

It offers two distinctly luxurious experiences: a private island with white sands and a turquoise lagoon on one side. And on the other, an overwater island facing both east and west to capture the majestic sunrises and sunsets you can only find at Raffles Maldives – truly one of the most beautiful ones we have ever seen.

In addition to all luxury you will find here and the beautiful amenities you will find here, the marine life is something out of this world! This was the resort where we could spot more sharks, rays, fish, and everything you can imagine.

Accommodations

A good thing about the accomodation at Raffles Maldives is that all Villas and residences come with a pool. That way, you can enjoy your villa at any time of the day.

The accommodation types include water villas (sunset and Sunrise side), beach villas, and residences.

We stayed in two different types of accommodation to be able to experience everything the resort had to offer. Half of our stay was at a beach, and the other half at an overwater villa.

If it’s your first time in the Maldives and you’re not sure which type of villa is ideal, we recommend splitting your holiday and experiencing both villas. They both have unique features and advantages when compared to each other.

Beach Villa

Footsteps away from the beach, the beach villas are breathtaking. The interior is cozy and luxurious at the same time. Step outside, and feel the ocean breeze carry your worries away.

One advantage of beach villas is how private they are and their direct access to the beach. As a result, it’s perfect for families and those with small children.

Sunset Overwater Villa

Overwater villas are our favorite type of accommodation in the Maldives! We have seen so many pictures of bungalows before visiting it. So for us, they give the experience where you truly feel like you are in paradise.

The overwater villas at Raffles are incredible as every room faces the ocean! So it does;t matter if you’re in the living room, bedroom, or bathtub: you won’t miss a single view of that endless blue.

Also, the bed is probably the largest one in all the Maldives. It’s around 3 meters. So you get lost on that.

Dining

Find fresh food with fantastic quality at Raffles Maldives Maeradhoo.

Here you will find a selection of three different restaurants for all tastes.

  • Tari – their easy-going all-day restaurant located on the main island.
  • The Firepit – The barbecue restaurant brings the art of cooking over the flame to the sand.
  • Yuzu – Yuzu offers Nikkei cuisine, located on the overwater island.

Meal Plans

You can choose B&B Half-Board and Full-Board.

We stayed on a Hard Board system where you can have two meals a day: breakfast and dinner.

Activities

There are excellent facilities such as a water sports center, a spa, and a gym at Raffles.

Water Sport Centre

From Jet-skiing to kayaking or paddling, you will have the most fantastic time on the clearest water of the Maldives. We definitely suggest going snorkeling (equipment already included in your stay). Like we said before, the amount of marine life around the resort is insane and so worth it.

Snorkeling with a Marine Biologist

At Raffles Maldives, we had the amazing opportunity to snorkel with a Marine Biologist. It’s such an excellent and informative experience.

The SPA

We absolutely love their SPA, and there’s one specific thing we would like to highlight about it. You can find a glass floor under the table massage so the guests can enjoy the marine life while being massaged. We saw sharks and all types of fishes swimming by. It was so relaxing and distracting! You will definitely forget about your worries in less than a minute!

CineFushi

The resort offers the experience of a “cinema under the stars.” So they prepare a beautiful setup with a huge scream that will stream your favorite movie, with some beer, popcorn, cashews, and nachos! It was our first time trying this out, and we loved it!

Recommend it for the love birds out there. It’s so romantic.

Cooking class

As you guys know, Fred is the chef at home. So he couldn’t miss the opportunity to have a cooking class and learn a traditional Maldivian receipt—another great addition to the activities offered by the resort.

There’s a private room with a kitchen where you will have that experience. The chef will then cook for or with you, whatever you prefer. All the ingredients, as per all other meals at the resort, are fresh.

After the class is done and your meal is ready, you will enjoy it immediately and be gifted with a certificate from the chef. Such a unique and fun experience for those who love cooking like Fred!

How to get there

Raffles Maldives Meradhoo is located in Gaafu Alifu Atoll, 400km south of the capital Malé. That means you will need to get a domestic flight in order to arrive at the resort.

Upon your arrival at Velana Airport in Malé, members of Raffles will guide you every step of the way there. Their Airport Butlers will greet you at the gate and assist with the check-in process for your hour-long domestic flight to Kaadedhdhoo Airport.

From Kaadedhdhoo Airport, you will board their yacht to Meradhoo island, 5 minutes away, where your villa and Butler await.

Our final thoughts

Raffles Maldives was a fantastic experience.

Right at first, we were warmly welcomed by the staff with some coconut water.

The first villa we stayed at was the beach villa, which was already set up and waiting for us. As soon as we stepped outside it for the first time, we saw three sharks swimming. One thing we liked about the beach villa was being able to walk on the sand and watch the marine life passing by.

We also got each one a Raffles hat as a souvenir, which we used during our whole stay to protect us from the hot sun in the Maldives.

Once again, we cannot stress enough how wonderful the marine life is at Raffles Maldives. We love it and totally recommend it.
