The Algarve, Portugal’s southern region, is one of the best European Summer destinations. This year in 2020, Algarve was nominated as one of the best beach destinations in the world by the World Travel Awards.
Here you will find a list of the 10 most instagrammable places in the Algarve.

1- Praia da Albandeira
If you are NOT tired of gorgeous beaches (like who would?), this is one more to add to your list. The Praia da Albandeira is an idyllic small beach with no stones in the water. You can take fantastic pictures up on the cliffs or go down to the beach. Definitely a top 10 Most Instagrammable Places in Algarve – Portugal
2- Ponta da Piedade
Ponta da Piedade is your next destination. Located right by the side of Camilo’s beach, this beach is a headland with a group of rock formations with clear waters and is one of the most visited tourist attractions in the Algarve. You can also get to it by doing a boat tour. Ponta da Piedade has been nominated the most beautiful beach in the world several times! See it for yourself; this place doesn’t disappoint.
3- Praia da Marinha
Have you ever seen a heart-shaped rock formation picture on Instagram? This is the place.
Praia da Marinha is one of the most famous beaches in Portugal. The Michelin Guide considers it one of the ten most beautiful beaches in Europe and one of the 100 most beautiful beaches in the world.
4- Praia dos Três irmãos
This is the famous place where we made this DRONE SHOT. Praia dos três irmãos is a beach with extensive, white, and fine sand. Very pleasant for a stroll by the sea. The cliffs give a natural charm to it. You can also choose to stay close to the restaurants or walk a bit longer and find places like the one in our drone videos.
5- Praia do Camilo
Two hundred wooden steps down to heaven. That’s right! After a total of 200 degrees, you will find Praia do Camilo.
In Lagos, Praia do Camilo has its iconic stairs, which lead you to this incredible beach between ochre-colored rocks. Pictures are often taken at the stairs, but the beach also hides a gorgeous cave that can make pretty good shots.
6- Ferragudo Abandoned Boat
This simple and rustic boat will make your pictures look just lovely! Sometimes all you need is a specific location to make it memorable. You can find this little boat at Ferragudo beach. There is a parking lot right at the beach.
7- Ferragudo old street with flowers
If you are tired of beach pictures, this is the perfect spot. You can find beautiful flowers on the top of windows and house doors on this cute narrow old street. Choose your favorite color and snap your photo. Say cheese!
8- A Boneca – Algar Seco
On the 10 most Instagrammable Places in Algarve – Portugal, you will find this fantastic cave with the famous rock formation known as “ A Boneca” (“the doll”). This is a rock shaped like an inverted cone that looks a little like a doll when seen from the sea—a great spot with a gorgeous view. If you want to see the cave inside, check this VIDEO out.
9- Praia dos Estudantes
Another great spot, I bet you have seen this place all over IG, is Praia dos Estudantes. This beach is accessible through a rock tunnel, with scenic cliffs & a modest sandy area for seating. If you get a low tide, you can take pictures just below the rock tunnel, but if not, it’s ok; your photos will still be amazing.
10- Praia do Paraíso
Last but not least, “Paradise beach’. It is truly paradise. As with almost all excellent beaches in Algarve, you will need to take the stairs down (stairs to heaven, literally), but from above, you will have an idea of how beautiful it is. Just keep in mind to go there when the tide is low. Otherwise, you won’t be able to access the small beach.

We know these are the ten most instagrammable places in Algarve, BUT we left one fantastic place out. The reason why is because we haven’t visited this place YET.
It’s on top of our and everybody’s list for next summer.
BENAGIL CAVE
This remarkable seaside cave is reachable by boat trip, kayak, or SUP, known for a distinctive hole in its roof. We are dying to go there. We tried to go, but the tide was super high, and we couldn’t go there safely. This is a must-see/go/photoshoot place. One of the most iconic places in the whole country!!
