We truly believe that local food can make your experience a hundred percent better when traveling. So we are going to list here the ten best restaurants in Georgia. Enjoy!

1 – Marani Restaurant & Bar – Tbilisi

If you are looking for a restaurant with a great view in Tbilisi, look no more. The restaurant Marani has one of the most beautiful locations in the whole city. It is located in the middle of the old town overlooking the sulfur baths, Narikala fortress, and old buildings. It will be hard to beat these views.

Here is what you must try:

  • Khachapuri – Georgian cheese bread
  • Cucumber and Tomato Salad
  • Eggplant filled with walnuts. Just WOW!!
  • Khinkali – This is the Georgian dumplings. They’re one of the country’s most famous food.
  • Desert – The Georgian snickers

2 – Cafe Littera – Tbilisi

Tucked away in old Tbilisi, behind the 120-year-old Writers’ House of Georgia building, lies a beautiful garden dominated by a towering pine tree. The place showcases the ‘new Georgian’ cuisine pioneered by Tekuna Gachechiladze, who fuses traditional flavors with contemporary international influences.

Here is what you must try:

  • Eggplant dip
  • Strawberry salad with cheese
  • Niki mushrooms
  • Desert – Baked Quince with mascarpone cream

3 – Marani Hall – Mtskheta

“Marani Hall” might be one of the best restaurants in Mtskheta, the former capital of Georgia. The place is lovely with a fantastic atmosphere. Its premises are modern, with beautifully manicured gardens surrounding the main building—ideal for big groups or special celebrations, serving the famous traditional dishes of the Georgian cuisine.

Here is what you must try:

  • Georgian Salad with Walnuts
  • Pkhali – Vegetables with Walnuts (Yes, Georgian love walnuts)
  • Mushroom with cheese
  • Pork Barbecue
  • We also got a local beer – Zedazeni. Good.

4 – Sisters – Kutaisi

After being closed for almost a year, they re-opened in September 2021. Sisters are one of Georgian’s favorite restaurant in Kutaisi and one of our favs in the country. The interior is super different. We felt like in a classic movie. We recommend it. This is one of OUR favorite restaurants in Georgia.

Here is what you must try:

  • Pkhali – Vegetables with walnuts
  • Greek Salad
  • Tomato and cottage cheese salad
  • Adjaruli Khachapuri – A delicious pastry and gooey cheese- IT’S A MUST!!!!!
  • Chicken with sweet sauce
  • Sweet wheat

5 – Palaty – Kutaisi

Cute place with a great environment! We went for dinner, and there was live piano music. We loved the simplicity and details. On the walls, you will find messages scattered on it from people all over the world. We left ours over there too, of course! Delicious food and amiable staff. Good music selection. Super recommend it!

  • Chikhirtma Soup
  • Greek Salad
  • Beans with smoked ham
  • Beef with tarragon

6- Monograph (Nominee Restaurant) – Tbilisi

Monograph resides in a historic building in the heart of Tbilisi, on Freedom Square. The nominee is an elegant rejuvenation of contemporary Georgian cuisine with authentic ingredients and Georgian culture, an inspiration for local cuisine in an exquisite setting.

We also had the fantastic surprise of getting to know the Portuguese chef Tiago Duarte, who is reinventing the Georgian cuisine and keeping the traditional touch.

  • Crispy mushroom
  • Georgian salad
  • Shkmeruli – The best chicken we ever had!
  • Pan-fried Khachapuri
  • Desert : Cream brule & Plum confit

7 – Pheasant’s Tears Winery – Signage

Pheasant’s Tears was born out of a love of authentic tradition, culture, and endless creativity. It is more than a winery; it’s about songs, cuisine, and art. It’s a lovely family-owned restaurant in Signage.

  • Wild Mushrooms
  • Cucumber Salad
  • Beans
  • Pears and Cream
  • Wine Tasting

8 – Natela Restaurant – Tsinandali

Natela, a new Georgian restaurant with an open terrace, is full of delightful touches inspired by Kakhetian cuisine inside Radisson Collection Hotel. Savor signature oven dishes and pair them with a historical wine selection to bring out the best flavor.

Here is what you must try:

  • Lamb Soup
  • Georgian Salad
  • Cheese
  • Chicken with honey
  • Desert: Mille-Feuille

9 – Republic Restaurant – Tbilisi

Georgian modern cuisine and impressive views over the city make the last floor of “Republic” stand out. The exquisite interior designed by French company Gilles & Boissier is a mix of cosmopolitan wave and local elements. We went for dinner, and they had live music. We loved it!

Here is what you must try:

  • Spicy cucumber and homemade yogurt
  • Broccoli pesto gnocchi
  • Pork shoulder skewers
  • Tiger shrimp risotto
  • Desert: Georgian sneakers & salted caramel brownie

10 – Ambassadori Kachreti

On our list of 10 Best Restaurants in Georgia, you can add the Ambassadori Hotel & Golf Club (First Golf Club in Georgia) in Kachreti is the ideal place for that vacation everyone craves to escape from their busy lives. Ambassadori Kachreti is a high-class resort. They have just opened -Sept 2021- a new Lounge designed in loft style.

Here is what you must try:

  • Matsoni Soup – Yogurt soup
  • Beef in Tomato Sauce
  • Elarji Balls with Walnuts Sauce
  • Pork BBQ
