As a couple constantly on the road, visiting so many different places worldwide, we feel like each destination has its special feature and is unique. So today, we bring you a list of the Top 6 most romantic destinations for that magic and unforgettable trip with your loved one you’ve always dreamed of.
We’ll share suggestions for all tastes: beach, big city, luxury, cold, heat… So let’s get this started.
Top 7 most romantic destinations
1. the Maldives
The Maldives is a dream place for many people, and of course, it wasn’t different for us as we also dreamed about visiting this paradise for many years.
Overwater bungalows surrounded by palm trees and facing those crystal clear waters make you believe paradise exists and you have just found it!
You may not know it yet, but the Maldives is one of the smallest countries in the world. It has about 1,200 coral islands, and 90% of the country is made up of water. They are also considered one of the safest travel destinations in the world.
It’s the perfect destination for couples, especially honeymooners. Whenever we are asked for recommendations by future Mrs and Mr, we always suggest them the Maldives. The resorts will ensure you feel like you’re in one of those movies. Welcome champagne, petals all over the villa and bathtub, candlelight dinners at the beach, and much more!
If you want a trip with paradisiacal scenery and lots of suns, it’s worth the visit!
But be careful! Many people don’t know, but the Maldives is also a popular destination for families with small kids. So our tip here is to look for “adults-only resorts.” There are plenty of them in the country.
2. Tuscany, Italy
We fell in love with Italy. We love the culture, history, architecture, landscape, and of course, the food.
One of the most charming and romantic places for us in Tuscany. No wonder there are so many romantic movies that were shot here.
Tuscany is also known as the birthplace of the Renaissance.
Among so many options of what to do and where to visit, you must visit Baccoleno, certainly one of the most romantic landscapes to watch the sunset. Of course, the ideal time to get there is an hour before sunset. But keep in mind that the place is full of photographers and people, especially during the Summer months of July and August.
3. Budapest, Hungary
Are you one of those who prefer big cities or are planning on traveling during Winter? Budapest is one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in Europe.
If you’re like us, who love good photos, we suggest visiting Fisherman’s Bastion, the most instagrammable place in town, with corners that yield beautiful photographs!
Another option is also to visit Széchenyl Thermal Bath, the largest and most famous thermal pool in Budapest, the kind of place where you spend hours and don’t even notice the time passing.
Bonus tip: Budapest during Christmas is incredible. They have plenty of Christmas markets there, and the decoration is fantastic. Definitely worth the visit.

4. Cappadocia, Turkey
Cappadocia is one of the most incredible destinations we have ever visited! We had a wonderful experience there, far beyond what we could have imagined.
It’s also a cheap destination compared to the other 3 we just mentioned. So if you’re on a budget but looking for an out-of-this-world romantic and magical place, Cappadocia is it!
The most famous thing about it it’s the favorite hot air balloon rides. But did you know that if you’re afraid of heights and don’t want to go ballooning, that doesn’t mean you can’t take amazing photos?
All you have to do is go to this place called Red Valley, where most balloons take off in the morning and enjoy the magical view. I had goosebumps while watching those balloons in the sky. It’s hard to describe with words the feeling of looking up and seeing more than 200 of them lighting up the sky while the sun starts to rise.
All the balloon rides are made in the morning. Therefore, there are no rides at other times of the day. Also, they are weather dependent, meaning that the balloons won’t take off if the weather conditions are not ideal.
That doesn’t often, especially during summer, but it can happen. So we suggest spending at least 3 days in Cappadocia and booking your balloon ride for the very first day. That way, in case it gets canceled, you still have other days to try.
A Balloon ride in Cappadocia is one of those things you have to do once in your lifetime. So you don’t wanna miss it! So be ready to wake up early in the morning but trust us when we say it will be worth it!
And don’t be thinking that Cappadocia only has balloon rides; the city has so much more to offer. We spent 5 days there in 2021, staying in one of the caves hotels in Goreme, and we cannot wait to come back again.
5. Paris, France
Ahh, Paris. How can we list the most romantic places in the world and not include the city of lights?
We both are huge fans of France’s capital, which is undoubtedly one of the places we recommend the most for couples.
Want to know why we love Paris so much?
Well, it’s Luana’s favorite city in the world. Since she was a little girl, she dreamed about living here, and no one in her family could figure out why. Then, years later, she had the opportunity to visit the city for the first time and make her dream come true.
In 2011, she moved to Paris to study Economics at University for 6 months and made great friends. Luana came back a few times after that with her family and loved ones, and to this day, she still talks about moving to the city again in the future.
Fred also loves it because at first, since they met, Luana couldn’t stop talking about it! And also because he went with her dear mother and sister and remembers it has been one of the best family trips ever.
6. Santorini, Greece
Santorini and Greece, in general, are top-rated destinations during the European Summer. We visited the city for the first time in July 2021 and are seeing it again this year.
Santorini has one of the best sunsets we have ever seen in our lives, and there are many incredible places in the city where you can do that!
Now, if there’s one suggestion we can give you about Santorini, it’s when to visit it. We suggest either very early June or mid-September. These are the times when the weather is more pleasant, and the island is less crowded.
