In 2021, we had one of the most fantastic job opportunities we have had so far: a wedding in Capri.
Last year, in 2021, we got an invitation from @suellenfernandescelebrations to be part of a working project she had in mind. After a few zoom meetings, we understood what she was proposing and fell in love with her idea. Her project was going to involve a trip to Italy. Wedding in Capri – You can have this experience as well.
It was a simple job: we would be a couple eloping in Italy.
However, the beautiful part of all of this is that Suellen wanted to make sure her work would be as authentic as possible. So she proposed that we have an actual ceremony to renew our vows.
So, of course, we said YES, and we decided on the best place to match us: the pre-wedding around the iconic Amalfi Coast and the ceremony at the beautiful Capri island.
Suellen is an excellent professional who plans unique weddings; with her, the ceremonies start from the idea of feeling and a state of mind. And that was what happened to us.
The ‘Destination Wedding Capri ‘ was in multiple renowned wedding magazines in Italy and Brazil. One of them you can find it here.
As we know, this is a dream for many couples; we’ve decided to share all the details about this beautiful experience so you can also plan to get married in Italy.
Quick FYI: we have been married for over five years and eloped in Las Vegas in 2017. At that time, we lived in LV while getting our Helicopter Pilot License.
An Open Heart
With a heartfelt and open conversation, the team set out to create an authentic Capri wedding experience to meet our expectations. They combined our profile with the best that the Amalfitan Coast can offer.
When we got married, the idea was that it would be in the mountains of Vegas, where we trained as helicopter pilots. However, due to bad weather, we ended up getting married on a lake near our home at the time.
So when we decided to renew our vows in Italy, we wanted to experience the heat of the sun and the sea breeze of Capri. One of the beauties behind this moment would be the combination of a trip and our work. A wedding in Capri would be perfect for celebrating our partnership as a couple and business partners.
Getting to know the Amalfi Coast
To get to know the region better, we had with us, Priscilla Santos. Priscila is a tourist guide specializing in the Amalfitan Coast. She prepared a beautiful two-day itinerary before we headed to Capri for the wedding.
We stayed in Scala, at Palazzo Pascal, located in a building over 1000 years old. It’s a small boutique family-owned hotel, and it used to be the house of the owners before they decided to turn it into a hotel just a couple of years ago.
Ravello – Hidden treasure of the Amalfi Coast
It’s considered the hidden treasure of the Amalfi Coast. It’s known for its musical events and festivals.
Located in Ravello, the famous Villa Cimbrone is one of the most beautiful places on the Amalfi coast and the most desired wedding venue.
Ravello – Villa Cimbrone
Villa Cimbrone offers gorgeous views of the Mediterranean. Its origins date back to the 11th century. Still, the Villa and the gardens were completely renovated by a British Nobel man, Lord Grimthorpe, in the early 20th century.
Helicopter Experience: The Other Side of the Amalfi Coast
Our tour started with a beautiful helicopter ride. We flew over the more than 66 curves that draw the region. It was a unique experience and we had the opportunity to see the Amalfi Coast, from different angles. From the Monti Lattari mountain to the set of lemon terraces and the Tyrrhenian sea.
In Capri, we could see the charming white houses, small squares, medieval alleys, romantic gardens, and the incredible sea view. We also took the opportunity to visit the place where the ceremony would take place and taste a typical Caprese aperitif.
Picnic
As the idea was for us to have ave new experiences, we had a picnic in the ruins of a 19th-century Basilica. XII, in Scala, a village on the coast.
Scala is the oldest and noblest village on the Amalfi Coast, located 450 meters above sea level, in the heart of the Lattari Mountains, immersed in the forest, among olive trees and vineyards.
It is the ideal place for those looking for a few days of peace and tranquility, with unique landscapes that have fascinated artists and writers worldwide.
Wedding in Capri
We got dressed in a boutique hotel in the center of Capri. We’ve decided to escape a little from the classic hotels of the island and have an experience more natural as a ‘local.’ All that without losing the elegance of a wedding in Capri.
Fred and I had each one a separate room to get ready, so we didn’t spoil the surprise. Everything was planned as an actual wedding!
It was then time for a photoshoot in a boat around Capri. Fred was blindfolded, waiting for me inside the boat. It was once he saw me that all magic started.
We did the photos first. The photoshoot took place on a boat, and the result was incredible!
“IL BACIO A CAPRI,” the promise of Eternal Love – Before the Ceremony, to have a typical Caprese experience, we swear eternal love in the Faraglioni.
According to legend, the Faraglioni served as a guide for sailors, and tradition says that a long kiss exchanged under the arch of the Faraglioni Stella seems to be a promise of eternal love.
Ceremony and dinner at Villa San Michele – “A house open to the sun, wind and the voices of the sea – as in Greek times – and lights, lights everywhere,” Axel Munthe described Villa San Michele.
Villa San Michele has an incredible location in Capri. We could enjoy the extraordinary view of the Gulf of Naples from the garden. The Villa San Michele has become a museum open to the public. In summer, it welcomes music criticism from the sunset concerts.
Indeed, the wedding on Capri was a fantastic experience, a beautiful way to renew our vows and celebrate our love and partnership.
We were all thrilled with the results of this job, and it will be an experience we’ll never forget.
